Fashion Edinburgh

Above: Armstrong's Vintage, Edinburgh

Edinburgh boasts a wealth of stores to browse over the October holiday week from upmarket Harvey Nichols to vintage speciality store Armstrongs in the Grassmarket.

Getting off at Haymarket train station, you can breeze along to the West End Village and William Street where you will find boutiques stocking unique and speciality labels. Sam Thomas, Helen Bateman, Frontiers and Archangel all offer something quite different to high street multiples and department stores. Up to Charlotte Square and you are at the west end of George Street where Jigsaw, Hobbs, Whistles, Coast, Cruise, Gant and many others reside. At the east end cut through Multrees walk for a look at Louis Vuitton, Harvey Nichols, Armani, G Star and Mulberry live then down to Princes Street for the full high street experience. If you prefer something less mainstream go up Cockburn Street for a browse round the indie set then up to George IV bridge past the new Hotel Missoni and down to Victoria Street to the Grassmarket and finish up at Armstrongs. A grand day out or two. Home via Waverley.
