The Central St Martins Experience

I spent four days in London attending a short course at Central St Martins College of Art & Design in Experimental and Explorative Approaches to Patternmaking. The course is taught by Patrick Lee Yow. CSM relocated earlier this year to new premises at Granary Square, behind London's Kings Cross station. The college is now housed in a redevelopment of old warehouse style buildings, and the space and atmosphere is amazing. The course explored spacial relationships, how we think about patterns, clothes, and their relationship with the body, and how different shapes can create interesting 'reactions'.
