Creative drawing for textiles
As part of their drawing activities for Concept Garment Design HND students today created a visual "journey" through their design narratives. Working with water and paint and a long format paper and a range of mark making tools, students used their imagination to record how they visualised their personal design stories.
we then discussed how students could take sections of the drawings that had interesting marks, textures and shapes as ideas to translate through textile processes.
The ideas generated could be developed through print on cloth, or appliqué, stitch or textile manipulation.
