Prada S/S 2014

Backstage: Miuccia Prada

Miuccia Prada is a long time political activist and champion of contemporary art. These worlds collided at Milan Fashion week S/S 2014 when she brought in graffiti artists to decorate the show venue and hoped to celebrate the struggle of women and inspire them to make a feminist statement.

The models have a riot, girl gang quality with strong tribal, street influences from South America. Referencing the mid 20th century artist Richard Lindner, colour blocking and layering tube socks with elegant bags, the collection provides plenty to look at and think about.

So far hailed as 'the show of the season', Prada collections continue to raise more questions than they answer. Joy.
