Wemyss School of Needlework

Today our NC students paid a visit to Wemyss School of Needlework. We are so very lucky to have such a rich and wonderful resource almost on our doorstep. This is a gem and we should shout out loud about it! Students were shown a large variety of needlework ranging from tapestry stitch, quilting, crewel work, lace and embroidery, all work done by hand. The items ranged from period garments to items for interiors like curtains and bed covers. The School has recently undergone a refurbishment and are in an ongoing process of cataloguing their pieces. They stock a large variety of yarns, wools and threads as well as base fabrics. They are very interested to hear about any connections that you may have or know about to the school - you might know of someone who used to study there in the past - ask your grannies and great aunties!
