Alexandra Lalic

Alexandra Lalic was an art historian but her career has taken a turn and now she is a fashion designer and textile technologist creating fabric from human hair.
"In aestheticising the human body, some of its parts (hair, nails, mole, ribs ...) are removed as undesirable waste - trash. Having designed clothes from recycled bio-waste, I brought it back on the human body and, moreover, I made it desirable again in a theatrical situation of a fashion show." (full interview here)
Her clothes apart from the amazing fabric have wonderful shapes and silhouettes reminiscent of Commes des Garcons. Alexandra Lalic will be showcasing work at Fashion Clash this week.

Maltese Hair Stylists creating styles for fashion show.

Preparations for the Malta fashion show at MCAST with work also from Bologna, Italy, Aarhus Denmark and Kirkcaldy Scotland. First we spent 5 hours preparing models hair, making them laugh and be happy and comfortable. As you can see there was lots of hard work but lots of fun too. (pics here)
