Primitive and yet magica,l these are papercuts by the famous storyteller and writer Hans Christian Andersen. They have a modern minimalism that belies that fact that they are almost two hundred years old. Often created as apart of his storytelling practise these papaercuts were produced in front of an audience. What I love about these is how the clothes have been so clearly rendered the silhouette is instant and I think it would be great fun to apply this technique to your design practise and sketchbooks.
