Schmidt and Takahashi 'Identity Swapping'

"It's a curious and fascinating experience to slip into the external "skin" of another person. Even if the clothes are mass produced for an unknown number of consumers, each piece is affected by the individual as soon as it ends up in the hands of that particular person. It is no longer an anonymous object. It stores aesthetic information unique to it's owner including things like body shape, smell, posture, attitude and lifestyle. This little experiment was the beginning of our project."

Schmidt and Takahashi explore used clothes and play with ideas and concepts around used clothes in unique thought provoking ways. This project 'Identity Swapping' in particular looks at the incredible difference the wearer makes to the look of the clothing. schmidttakahashi

  1. this is a really interesting idea, it's making the clothe items more of a package-a finished job but still no matter who wears it, it becomes individual to them.
