Oliver Theyskens

Wonderful structural creations from Oliver Theyskens, who had an amazing journey into his fashion career.
Oliver wanted to be a designer from a very young age and began sketching, designing and sewing clothes at six. He went to fashion school in Brussels but dropped out two years later in 1997 and started his own label. He was then poised to become a powerful force in the world of fashion especially when Madonna wore one of his creations to the 1998 Oscars, but then 9/11 happened and led to 30-40% drop in business, as Oliver did not want any debt he closed his label and moved to Paris. From 2002-2006 he worked with Rochas, then he moved to Nina Ricci and now he is at Theory where he has his own line called Theysken's Theory and is the artistic director. (Interview)
