Kristina Kurkina






"By the time I had made the final fold, the piece of paper was a shape of a geometric flower ... Once it was time to turn the flower in on itself and I pulled it through the incision. I pushed the sides of paper flower towards the centre and as I did so it glowed and began to disappear…"

Kristina Kurkina is a Russian-Kazakh designer based in London and this is her 'Collection No1'. Her work involves bold silhouettes and  innovative shape. Krisina uses tailoring and imaginative fabric manipulation and smocking to create strong expressive designs. (thank you)
