Rozalb de Mura
Rozalb de Mura is a Romanian design label who's collections caught my eye this morning for its unusual quilting , draping and folding. These pieces are all from 'the Thing' collection of AW 2008 based on lava flow.
" What I had in mind was the feel and look of an ancient lava specimen. It's as if all pieces have been immersed in a black viscous liquid, and then brought to surface bearing the lobe-like traces due to the solidification process. I wanted a combination of organic excess and black camouflage, with many hidden details: curved cuts, hidden pockets, two-in-ones, false folds and other secret traits that sometimes only the wearer can really appreciate." Olah Gyarfas
This is just one collection and project from a wildly creative force in fashion, music and contemporary art.

Shengwei Wang
"I am really really picky with materials, and I cannot always find something nice in the market, so the best way to do it, is create my own fabric, and knitting for me is like a charming day dream time, I can put all my emotion together as the yarn, and knit it." Shangwei Wang

Anne Sofie Madsen
Anne Sofie Madsen's SS2013 collection is both; illustrational, in that the clothes are like washes of water colour over the body opaque and translucent and anatomical, with skeletal references. As with all of Anne's collections it combines unusual fabric technology and pushes the boundaries of fabric combinations creating an interesting clash of delicacy and strength.
"As the theme for Anne Sofie Madsen’s collections change, the vision stays the same: A wish to show the well-known through the un-known and to use traditional handcraft methods and couture techniques within ready-to-wear. Anne experiments with materials such as leather applied to a fine mesh base, built-up collars with unconventional patterns, and hand-drawn illustrations printed digitally on silk or wool fabrics. The consistent play with contrasts and materials creates a look of mixed toughness and fragility to each design."
Anne Sofie Madsen (thank you)
