Evelyn Morrison
These are images of Evelyn Morrison's degree show 2011 at ECA. They illustrate a progression of ideas about privacy and quietness (see quiet box 2010). Evelyn loves working in textiles and since graduating has been experimenting with random patterns created in cross-stitch.

Jeanette Sendler

Jeanette Sendler's portfolio has millinery, felting, tailoring, printing, weaving and many other facets of textile and fashion design. These images are from a residency that Jeanette had in Newburgh Fife in 2007. I particularly like the top image a tailored jacket constructed from pattern paper. Jeanette Sendler now works from her studio in Perth and teaches at Edinburgh College of Art.

Emilie Faif I

French artist Emilie Faif's portfolio has blown me away tonight. Emilie creates amazing works sculptures and installations with textiles but also does performance and video art. I adore this dress growing out of (or into) an upholstered organic environment. It's like the dress is dreaming . . . I love it!

Cobwebs and memories and the smell of dust, these are the evocative works of textile artist Louise Richardson. I love her use of photography especially on the feathers.

Riitta Ikonen I

Ritta Ikonen is a Finish artist living in London, she trained in illustration at Brighton but grew up with a sewing machine. Her work is unique and very inspiring as she creates costumes that then become performance pieces and are recorded and exhibited through photography to highlight ecological and environmental issues.
"The super-garments I make, open up new experiences. In my costumes tremendous things happen- to me and the people I work with." Riitta Ikonen
A wonderful thing to be able to say about a garment that you have made, to read more of this interview go here.

Georgia Boniface

My groups are using photo transfer over the next few days and I wanted to show them that there was more to this technique than just printing there favourite image on a T-shirt. This is the inspiring work of textile artist Georgia Boniface who incorporates photography transfers into her installations and also incorporates them onto other textile items such as cushions. Thank you so much Georgia for all your help.
