WOW

Fashion Show MCAST 27th of June 2011

Red hot fashion from Scotland

Our models in rehearsal and the MCAST fashion show, displaying dresses made by Adam Smith College NC Fashion students and Colin Bell. The dresses were made using techniques learnt during Julian Robert's workshop and incorporating sheer fabric panels and cut-outs in organza. A big thank you to the wonderful Maltese models, you were great!

TEKO Aarhus represented at Malta Fashion Show

Here are the models showing the fashion work of students from TEKO Aarhus and hair and beauty skills of students and staff from Aarhus Tech at the MCAST fashion show.

Ready . . .

Our models relaxing before practising and rehearsing for show.

Then Make-up

Make up makes a vast difference when creating a spectacle like a Fashion Show. Below are some wonderful examples where make-up is more like stage paint, startling and stunning. Below Malta, Mary-Jane and Scotland, Malta and then bottom image is Denmark. (More images)

Hair First!

Above very dramatic styling by Maltese hair student.

Below and three above the Scottish team; Emma, Kelly and Christine working with their models with assistance from Mary-Jane and Colin.

Preparations for the Malta fashion show at MCAST with work also from Bologna, Italy, Aarhus Denmark and Kirkcaldy Scotland. First we spent 5 hours preparing models hair, making them laugh and be happy and comfortable. As you can see there was lots of hard work but lots of fun too. (pics here)

Malta at Aarhus Fashion Show

I love this crazy image of the Maltese clothes (Bottom) and the textural work on the top dress.

Aarhus Fashion Show II, Hair and Beauty

Top, Top image: Our model with hair and make up finished
Top image: Yvonne and Susan working on our model's hair,
Middle image: Bernardette (maltese student) working on her model's makeup.
Bottom image: Aarhus technical college student working on her models hair.
A large part of presenting clothes at a fashion show is the styling of the models, their hair and beauty can make a vast difference. Because we were sharing our models we were not completely able to control this.
However we did have one model that Susan McGregor assisted by Yvonne Morrison designed the hair and makeup for, and it was wonderful to watch them and see their styling completing and complimenting the clothes.

Aarhus Fashion Show I

Fiona McLennan, Susan McGregor, Yvonne Morrison and I have returned from Aarhus, Denmark, having put on a fashion show using clothes and accessories made by students during the Julian Roberts and Tim Johnson masterclasses.
We were there as part of a European funded Leonardo Project which allows students and staff from different colleges the chance to see each others colleges, working methods and share good practice and in this case work together to put a fashion show.

The show in Denmark featured work from Malta college of Art Science and Technology, Aarhus Tech and invited participants from TEKO (as Aarhus technical college does not have a fashion department.

Over the next few posts I will be sharing some of the images from behind the scenes and soon I hope to have a link to a film of the show made by Chris Goa Farrugia a media student from Malta.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this a great success.
