En-Ya Vandenhende

My last post about the stunning MA show of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp, is the collection of En-Ya Vandenhende which is full of drama and dance. En-Ya's show utilised contemporary dance to display her collection. Figures were stretched and joined by garments, lavish with expanses of fabric, creating spectacle and theatre. The garments transformed the silhouette of the wearers and the interaction between wearers as the excesses of fabric act as a tangible shadow, a flow and connection between the performers.

Jantine Van Peski

The second post of graduates from The Royal Academy of Antwerp, Fashion MA is Jantine Van Peski, Wires 10.0 collection inspired by textile sculptures from the 1970's and specifically drawing upon the technique of macrame.

Niels Peeraer

A shockingly surreal, softness is what strikes me about Neils Peeraer's Masters collection 'guess technology isn't ready for pancake teleportation'. Niels Peeraer went to art school aged only 14 and then entered the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp at 18. Neils graduation show included a limited edition handbag collaboration with Delvaux, and he won the MoMu award and the RA award.
